    NHBC announces first female chair

Isabel Hudson will tomorrow (November 24) become the first female chair in NHBC’s 75-year history.
Hudson brings to this key role three decades of experience in the insurance and finance sectors. She has previously been executive director of the Prudential’s UK business, and in other roles handled changing business environments on an international level.
Hudson has been NHBC’s deputy chair since May of this year. Her appointment will be formally announced at NHBC’s annual lunch tomorrow, where Hudson will address guests including Treasury minister Danny Alexander in her inaugural speech as chair.
“I am delighted to assume the role of NHBC chair and to be carrying on the excellent role of my predecessor, Sir John Carter,” Hudson said.
“Today’s housing market is undergoing significant political and economic change, and the new homes industry is facing enormous challenges. I look forward to working with NHBC as it remains firmly committed to helping the industry continue to raise standards, while ensuring that consumer concerns remain central.”
