Job description:

Our client a successful regional house builder is currently seeking a Technical Co-ordinator, ideally with a Civil Engineering background/qualification.

The successful candidate will be expected to use his/her skills in co-ordinating with Architects, Engineers and various Consultants and Authorities. To provide accurate drawings and information to a satisfactory standard within the agreed budget and to provide effective delivery to satisfy the Company’s programme of works whilst liaising with the Commercial Director, Land Manager, Sales & Marketing Director and Construction Director is required.

KEY TASKS

Day to Day Activities:

Land Acquisition:

· Visit site and advise Land Manager on technical issues.

· Liaise with Architect, engineer and other necessary consultants to acquire all necessary data, details and drawings to ensure the site can be appraised accurately.

· Liaise with all internal staff over technical issues to ensure that the most viable solution is achieved within the Company’s specification and guidelines.

Land Under Contract:

  • Procure all necessary details to accompany planning applications from Architect, Engineer and other Consultants.
  • Prepare brief for instructing external consultants as required.
  • Manage external consultants as required.
  • Liaison with internal staff as appropriate to ensure the planning submission is supported, monitored and also negotiating the progress of the planning application.
  • Liaison as required with all internal and external departments to obtain; Planning Permission, Building Regulations and NHBC approval and registration.
  • Discharge relevant Planning, NHBC and Building Regulation Conditions.

Land Acquired:

  • Liaise and instruct external consultants and obtain all necessary drawings to support the proposed development.
  • Administer and liaise with all necessary parties involved in Sectional Agreements through to adoption.
  • Prepare Design Brief in accordance with Company Standard and ensure specification and drawings are distributed as appropriate.
  • Control issue of drawings and specification updates to sites and departments.
  • Site visits as necessary to ensure compliance with approved designs.
  • Review details and specification periodically and recommend when needed changes for approval.

General:

  • Establish good relationships with external consultants, planning departments and other professionals.
  • Maintain an awareness of changes in regulations throughout the industry.

Knowledge & Specific Job Skills:

  • Recognised qualifications at Degree level, HNC/HND standard.
  • IT literate
  • Attention to Detail
